Is this case closed, or could the exes still reunite?
Original article, 4/16:
Multiple sites are reporting that exes Bella Hadid and The Weeknd (AKA Abel Tesfaye) were spotted kissing at a Coachella afterparty this weekend. The former lovebirds, who broke up in November 2016, reportedly put the PDA on full display after the music festival during Poppy nightclub's pop-up on Friday night, according to People.
The two were "kissing all night," a source told E! News.
"They spent the whole night together and left together. Bella looked really happy," the insider added to E!. "They were definitely super affectionate, cuddling each other while hanging out with their friends."
A witness also added to People: "The Weeknd and Bella were sitting on each other’s laps and all over each other all night long. They definitely looked like they were fully back together."
Per Us Weekly, the former couple was "completely all over each other" and celebrity pals Kendall and Kylie Jenner even stopped by their table. (The event was in support of Jenner's new makeup launch, Kourt X Kylie, with her sister Kourtney Kardashian.)
However, both Hadid and Tesfaye have not yet commented on the news and there don't appear to be any photos (so far).
So what does this mean about the exes' current relationship status? E! reports that they've been "talking on and off for the past couple of months," but this marks their first public sighting.
An insider added to the site that Bella and Abel have been "secretly seeing each other recently" but they are "not official." The Weeknd has also been openly dating other women since breaking up with Selena Gomez last fall, while Bella "wants to be exclusive," the source added.
"Bella never really lost feeling for Abel and had hope they would eventually get back together," the E! insider claims. "They are just getting back to a good place. She loves hanging out with Abel and they always have fun together and is very hopeful of their future relationship."
Who knows, they've broken up and gotten back together before.
The PDA news arrives shortly after it was reported that Tesfaye got emotional while performing his headlining set at Coachella on Friday night. Fans pointed out that the star got teary-eyed while singing "Call Out My Name," which is believed to be about his former flame, Selena Gomez.
However, he also sang "Wasted Times," a new song that appears to be about Hadid, since the lyrics mention wanting to get back together with a former partner and reference Bella's love for horseback riding. The model was reportedly watching the performance.
Tune into the track below:
Tesfaye and Gomez ended their relationship in October 2017 after about 10 months of dating. Selena then went on to reunite with her longtime on-and-off boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, fans wondered whether Abel and Bella would reconnect. In November, he was spotted leaving Bella's mother Yolanda Hadid's apartment weeks after the split, where he was speculated to have caught up with his model ex.
